I’m Emma, a Skolt Sámi woman
Practicing traditional livelihoods keeps me deeply connected to nature and my ancestors. Working and living with reindeer is in my blood.
Reindeer are an integral part of Skolt Sámi culture, as well as the surrounding Arctic environment. The land, water, and all living beings within them provide me with the materials I need, whether for food or handicrafts.
My family’s journey with reindeer ended when there was no one left to carry on the tradition. However, in 2021, I decided to start my own reindeer park to reconnect with the reindeer and revive this important tradition.
My Reindeer Activities
I offer a great variety of different activities to meet, greet and feed the reindeer.
Whether you want a fast visit with a few great pictures, a reindeer sleigh ride or a complete experience including a lot of knowledge about the reindeer and Skolt Sámi, I’ve got it all ready for you.
All my activities are always done with the reindeer’s health as the main priority as they are a beloved part of my family.
